Choice is the hospital radio service for the Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester - a cathedral city in the heart of England.
So what exactly do we do here?
Choice is a voluntary service broadcasting to patients from a purpose-built studio centre. Broadcasts are internal to the hospital, via a closed-circuit system called Patientline and we broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
On our programmes, we play a wide variety of music, with the emphasis on requests from patients. We also broadcast interviews with celebrities, both local and national, quizzes, local and national sports news and lots of other features.
Record requests are made to the Choice volunteers who regularly visit the wards. In addition, family and friends can ask for a record to be played, with a personal message if they like, by contacting the station.
Please note: we are a charity broadcaster and all our members are volunteers. We do not employ anyone so please do not contact us for a job. We are also unable to take people for work experience. Our minimum age for membership is 18 and our volunteers come from Worcester or the surrounding area only.
