GOLD for our Special Event entry at the HBA Annual awards plus two others shortlisted - see Stop Press page
Choice is the hospital radio service for the Worcestershire Royal Hospital in Worcester - a cathedral city in the heart of England. So what exactly do we do here? Choice is a voluntary service broadcasting to patients from a purpose-built studio centre. Broadcasts are internal to the hospital, via a closed-circuit system called Patientline and we broadcast 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. On our programmes, we play a wide variety of music, with the emphasis on requests from patients. We also broadcast interviews with celebrities, both local and national, quizzes, local and national sports news and lots of other features. Record requests are made to the Choice volunteers who regularly visit the wards. In addition, family and friends can ask for a record to be played, with a personal message if they like, by contacting the station. Please give us feedback by sending a message,
however brief, by clicking on the envelope below
Please note: we are a charity broadcaster and all our members are volunteers. We do not employ anyone so please do not contact us for a job. We are also unable to take people for work experience. Our minimum age for membership is 18 and our volunteers come from Worcester or the surrounding area only. If you are trying to contact the Worcestershire Royal Hospital main switchboard, dial 01905 763333 Our phone number is +44 1905 760820 - catch us in the studio during broadcasting hours or just leave a message and we'll call you back To find out more about us, just click on the buttons.
